My name is Todd Mellinger, EMAIL IS JAPHELMETHUNTER@HOTMAIL.COM I have collected Indian relics on the Lower Susquehanna river since 1974. I have personally found over 10,000 arrowheads, spearpoints, drills, stone and glass beads, 2 pipes, 1 bannerstone, gorgets, 2 soapstone bowls, and dozens of stone axes and celts, all along or in the Susquehanna River from Conowingo Dam, MD, all the way to the Upper reaches of the Susquehanna north of Harrisburg.. I was also active in IACANE, displaying my collection at the yearly show, and winning many awards for my PA artifacts. I also actively travelled PA buying, and examining dozens of collections, including the PA collecting legend, "Doc" Bowser, who I considered a friend, and mentor. I also was friends with all the old-time collectors, Gary Fogelman, Rich Johnston, Dick Savidge, Larry Fry, my close friend and artifact hunting buddy for many years (God rest his soul), Phil Long, etc. I was also active with the Proffessional Archeological community in Central PA, working with Barry Kent, and Jim Herbstritt. I also wrote a few published articles for "Indian Artifact" magazine. I eventually sold most of my extensive collection to Larry Fry, as my collecting interests changed. I relate all this only to confirm my credentials, as very experienced and knowledeable collector/hunter/dealer of PA Indian Artifacts. I have handled literally 10's of thousands of relics, and have bought, sold, and traded them, for many years. I currently also collect WWII USMC Raider items, and Japanese "war trophys". I guarantee each Relic I sell to be 100% original , and offer a refund of your purchase price within 7 days if you are unhappy with your purchase. I have also been selling Indian relics on Ebay since 1998, under the name hell-in-the-pacific. I have 1300+ positive feedbacks (100% positive) with many repeat customers. I am always open to reasonable offers on my artifacts. Please feel free to email me 24/7 to purchase an artifact, request additional photos, or with questions. HUGE SUSQUEHANNA BROADSPEAR SOLD
Offering a Giant example of the very desirable Transitional Period SUSQUEHANNA BROADSPEAR. This is a classic swept - wing example, made from a nice mottled blue/grey Rhyolite, and measuring just a 16th of an inch shy of 4 3/4" x 2 3/8". Uniformly wafer thin, with no stacking or high spots. This came out of an old collection, and unfortunately, someone ground the last 1/4" of the tip. I have seen this fairly often in old collections,as the collector wouldnt want a point like this to have a chipped up tip, so they would grind the damaged tip into a "point". The good news is, it is patinated the same as the rest of the point, with no change in color, which would make it much more obvious. The other upside is, that if the tip were perect it would easily be a $800+ piece. Would look great as the centerpiece of a frame of Susquehanna Broadpoints. In almost 40 years of collecting have only seen about a dozen Susquehannas in this huge size. Additional photos available upon request via email. Ex. Gene Barbieri collection, found Lancaster Co. Pa.
Another fine example, in an attractive dark blue and white mottled Rhyolite. Photos just dont do these points justice. Great classic Susquehanna outline, and very thin. Measures 2" x 1 1/8". Additional photos available upon request via email. Ex. Gene Barbieri collection, found Lancaster Co. Pa.
